Skagen and Grenen – the tip of Denmark
The town of Skagen is located 90 min from Aalborg on the northernmost tip of the peninsula of Jutland and is a very popular tourist destination. A distinctive feature of Skagen is its yellow houses with red tile roofs and a laid-back atmosphere. At Skagen Harbour you can buy fresh fish and shellfish in the traditional 100-year-old fish warehouses or enjoy the wonderful and intense atmosphere in one of the many fish restaurants.

The surrounding area of the town and its impressive wild landscape is extremely picturesque. North of Skagen, at the very tip of Denmark known as ‘Grenen’, you can see the point where the two seas of Skagerrak and Kattegat meet, waves clashing together from each side.

Other attractions include one of Denmark’s first lighthouses from the 15^th century, the famous Skagen’s Museum with important works by e.g. Anna and Michael Ancher, P.S. Krøyer and Carl Locher, the famous ‘Buried Church’ which is buried in sand after many years of desertification and Raabjerg Mile migrating sand dune - the only true desert in Northern Europe.



Lønstrup – village of handicrafts
The village of Lønstrup is situated in the beautiful hilly dunes at the coast of the North Sea. Here you can experience many traditional handicrafts in the village’s glassworks, galleries and potteries.

Close by you can witness the strong forces of nature. Built 2 km from the sea, the Medieval ‘Mårup Church’ is now metres from falling into the sea! At Rubjerg Knude, a lighthouse is partly covered in sand and this is yet another proof of the rough terrain which characterises the region.

Limfjorden – sail trip
Why not go sailing with an old sailing ship or a motorboat on the waters of the Limfjord?
