The Danish Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis was founded in 1993 in order to establish a common forum for persons involved in thrombosis and hemostasis.

The overall aim of the society is to:

» Promote knowledge on thrombosis and hemostasis

» Enhance the quality on education of doctors within
» the area of thrombosis and hemostasis

» Enhance and support the research within thrombosis
» and hemostasis

» Establish a network nationally and international within
» thrombosis and hemostasis

» Advice official authorities (e.g. The National Board of Health)
» within thrombosis and hemostasis

The fulfilling of these aims is done by arranging scientific meetings and educational seminars, by participation in national and internationally working groups and publishing guidelines on thrombosis and hemostasis.

One of the advantages of the society is the multidisciplinary approach, and the present board consists of persons from different specialties, namely: Clinical Biochemistry, Abdominal Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Clinical Pharmacology, Cardiology, Gynecology & Obstetric and Anesthesiology.
